With the aim of investing more in the socio-emotional development of our children, the mascot project was introduced in 2024 to strengthen bonds and foster relationships, including between the school and families.
We started the project in February, where an animal was chosen to represent each group: bears, lions, butterflies, pink bears, and yellow birds. From then on, we brought these little animals to life, introducing them into the classrooms and fostering a playful relationship with each one. Intentionally, they have been placed in challenging situations, such as when one of them got its paw stuck in the school’s safety net or when another got sick and needed special care. These situations serve as invitations for the children to reflect on empathy, solidarity, and feelings, gradually expanding the group’s understanding in these areas.
The imaginary world enables fun and learning through play, and it is in this playful and enjoyable relationship that we have great opportunities to address individual differences, respect, values, and emotional control.
